Hello friends, family, and community!
If you know me, or if you've talked to my parents in the last five years, you'll know that I LOVE my job as an Oakland teacher. Talk to me for 30 seconds, and I'll find a way to tell you about it. Sometimes, this obsession results in me making decisions that I don't fully understand. Most recently, it has somehow manifested in me signing up to ride my bike ~110 miles~ in order to raise money for my students!
At the end of this month, I'll be riding my bike (with hundreds of teachers and community members) from Oakland to Sacramento , in order to raise money for my students! Life Academy uses these important funds to provide AWESOME extra curricular experiences for students at the end of the year - museum tours, kayaking trips, overnight bikepacking, camping, and more. My goal is to raise $10 per mile, for a grand total of $1100, and I'm humbly asking for your support! Make me ride my bike!!
Want to make me ride 1 mile? Donate 10 bucks! Want me to ride 50 miles? Donate $500! The earlier miles are the hardest, so I encourage you to donate early if you want the satisfaction of knowing YOUR money made me ride the hills. By April 19, I'm excited to put together a route map that shows exactly which miles YOU each are paying for (see below for an example)!
That's all for now! Please consider supporting!
Gratefully,
mr. gabe
