Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Ride 4 a Reason, the annual bike ride from Oakland to Sacramento (110 miles). I plan on riding in April 2025 for my eighth time!
I ride to support our local public schools: our two kids are OUSD students!
This ride has meant a lot to me, personally. In 2016, I undertook it as a new physical challenge: riding far longer than I ever have before, over 100 miles! R4R has inspired me to set and achieve new goals!
In 2022, I rode from my front door in Oakland to my childhood front door in Santa Monica, camping along the way! In 2023, I completed two gravel races and even the famous Death Ride! This year (2024), I completed my third-ever gravel bike race in Bakersfield.
In 2025, I'm eyeing some new adventures in the American West.
Today, over 300 riders cycle from Oakland Sacramento to raise funds for our beneficiary public schools.
The schools use these funds for the necessary basics: library books, sports equipment, art education, after-school programs, science equipment, and staff salaries for counselors, librarians, and reading specialists.
